Re: Saturday football
MotD2 said that the VAR lot took the seriousness of the injury into account when upgrading the ref's yellow to a red, and that this is against all precedent.

Son should have got a yellow for his earlier dive. So they got to the right colour anyway.

Re: Saturday football
Im not sure what the Nigels were singing at Vardy but from what I saw he flapped his arms like a bird when he scored.
Not sure what sure what sort of charge you want him to get for that.
Always amuses me that fans cunt someone off for 90 mins then get all precious when he reacts when he scores.

Re: Saturday football
I haven't seen if this was posted before, but am sure that Son has form for that sort of trick, didn't he do the same sort of thing to Antonio last year or the year before.

It was for me an easy red. If you trip over an athlete going at full pelt away from you, it is likely to cause an injury. In some ways it is worse than a full blooded challenge than often draws a card.

Jamie Vardy, appreciate he's been kopping stick over his missus antics, but for the last 3 weeks he's been giving it large to the opposition fans when scoring a goal, surprised he hasn't been pulled on this yet?

More controversy = more talking points = more media exposure = higher advertisement reach = more advertising revenue.

Not that hard to unravel.

Re: Saturday football
I said at the beginning of the season that VAR needed some clear guidelines as to what and wasn’t a penalty ie attackers initiating contact, ball striking a hand.
We were told increasing your silhouette or having your arm in an unnatural position meant handball.
Now I don’t know what is handball again.
They said something about both players ‘competing for the ball’ so it was ok.
Baffling

Re: Saturday football
That has to be the first time this season any one has there hand up in the air, the ball clearly hits it, and no pens given?? Who says these referees/Var men are not bent!!!

Re: Saturday football
Lampard is doing seriously well at Chelsea

But it shouldn´t be surprising the Chelsea youngsters are performing well

They have spent fortunes on their U-18s through the years and been one of the big guns in youth and reserve football for a long time

Should we not call this ‘Fred’ weekend football?

Re: Saturday football
its a straight red, so it can be overruled on appeal, right? Even so, VAR could surely have sorted that one out on the spot. If so, expect Son will be available against us, unfortunately.

Re: Saturday football
Ref and VAR had a nightmare surprisingly
Son tripped Gomez ... yellow card .... and he fell into Aurier and the collision broke his leg.
Ref saw the injury and decided Son should get a red. Wrong decision
VAR official .... well, who knows what he was looking at
The major problem with VAR is the involvement of buffoons who don't know their arse from their elbow. Also known as REFEREES

Re: Saturday football
The ref has a yellow card in his hand ,either someone in his earpiece or other outside influence has made him issue a red .

Far Cough 8:33 Sun Nov 3
Re: Saturday football
Was the Gomez incident sent to VAR then?

eastend joker 8:31 Sun Nov 3
Re: Saturday football
so if Spurs were to appeal the red card and win the appeal the FA would be over ruling VAR ?
